Peanut Butter/kongs
« on: February 26, 2018, 10:02:47 pm »
Just read this on faceache book thought I ought to mention it on here -

Peanut Butter Alert For Your Pets:-

A new type of peanut butter (and other nut butter) is being sold with less sugar, but now includes xylitol as a sweetener.  That is what is used in sugarless gum and it can be deadly to dogs.  Many people use peanut butter as a dog treat, or to fill a Kong, or disguise medications; if they now use the type with xylitol, it could be very dangerous.

Just so you all know  ??? ::)

I have heard about xylitol being lethal for dogs - fortunately I hate peanut butter so never have it in the house!! my dog have never had it.

I am sure it is fine for birds though Alison ;D ;D

I love peanut butter but don't buy the 'posh stuff' so we will be ok  :P I don't know about the birds though? I just put seed mix and peanuts on the bird table - but let us know if you find a few fatalities in your garden  ;D ;D

How did she manage to catch a Dove? Violet has a go at the pigeons and seagulls sometimes but they fly off really quickly - due to our extension being built we have had to put the parrot in the lounge - Violet has got used to this now and yesterday when he had a fly around she didn't bark or chase him (I kind of think she knows she's not allowed to kill him!) she just looks really P****d off when he does it!!  :-\
