agree with clare .... they do love to test the boundaries.....especially when they are settling in.............she could also be a wee bit jealous of jake....... :-[ :-[ :-[

I wont even go into the trouble we had with polly......she was so destructive and mouthy and I was very wary with her round kids

I am still cautious as we don't have very many round so their manic energy is a bit of a novelty still.......... children are so over excited the whole all the hard work we did with keeping polly calm went outta the window ;D ??? ??? ???

Enjoy pheebs....... they calm down and settle down soon enough :P :P

Violet peed on our bed once, about two months after she came to live with us - I had a go at her for it and she's never done it since there's lots of information on the internet about why they do it though.  It can be linked to them feeling vulnerable and hiding their scent in yours and as she is a newbie this might be true? but either way, it has to stop!! Violet will rub herself all over the bed which I can cope with!! Have you had a bitch before? Violet is my first one and I have to say I've noticed lots of differences between dogs and bitches.

Phoebe is bound to be curious about the children especially newborn babies who make lots of strange sounds and get all the attention.  I remember after having my son when the health visitor came around for the first time Billy had gotten onto the bed and was inches away from my son he must have sneaked up when I was busy tidying for the health visitors visit  :-\ and worse than this he  stayed at my parents while I was in hospital and for the first time in his life with us he came back with fleas that he had caught from my mum's cats, which bit my then newborn son who was about six day's old at the time!! Sounds terrible, doesn't it?  - he used to get on my son's bean bag too while we were washing up, or in the shower or just going to the toilet!! I think the biggest risk for me was that he was capable of accidentally suffocating him, we all know what they're like for wanting to sleep 'right on top of you' which is ok when kids are bigger but not when they're babies!! When I look back it almost makes me laugh and shudder at the same time!! Phoebe just needs to know who's in charge and what her boundaries are and no doubt like all Bullies she will test them from time to time to keep you on your toes!! Violet didn't make it easy for us on this level and there were a couple of times when she pushed her luck too far, be hey ho! we're all still together and very settled so it's been worth it!
Hope Phoebe is settling in well it sounds like you're loving her to bits - but with a tinge of guilt! Toddy like Billy would have wanted another one of their kind to enjoy your experienced ownership and the time and love you have to offer - they would never want us to look back as much as we do or feel the guilt we carry - as ridiculous as this sounds I often tell Violet at night time before bed to let Billy up on the sofa and to be nice to him like he's here in spirit or something!! I really need to get a grip it's been over three years!!!  :-\ Enjoy young Phoebe you all deserve it  :-* :-*

Apart from the recuperation period - bless her it is a major surgery as opposed to neutering males - and the fact there are the usual risks associated with a general - I think at her age, where she is fully matured and developed there should be few if any side effects although they do say they put on weight more easily once spayed - so just watch her food intake if you notice that :-[ :-[ :-[

Good luck little Phoebe :-* :-* :-*
