5 year old bullie girl Lily - bracknell
« on: November 17, 2014, 11:04:55 pm »
Unfortunately this little bullie is not getting what she needs in her current home i.e. not walked, not yet spayed in a house of 5 kids, another unspayed female, 3 cats and a bunny.

She needs to go back to basics and be taught some boundaries, she needs a decent diet and most importantly long walks and exercise.

We got lily when she was a out 8/10 wks old her dad was staff x & her mum kc ebt. He had her 1st jabs & boosters but hasn't had any in recent years due to financial circumstances. She's suffers from flea allergies but we've kept her clear for 2 years with only 1 short lived outbreak in between. She also suffers from sore inner thighs & flaky dry skin on her rear & tail. She loves a good scratch along the floor or rug & loves snuggling in blankets or lying in the sun. She's always been a opportunist runner & in her 5 years with us has terrorised runners, cyclists, council offices, local pubs etc upon her escapes. Also loves to climb absolutely anything including 6 ft fence panels to get to the dogs next door. Will eat fences like there paper although hasn't for about a year. She can open baby gates, garden gates & internal doors. Always scrounge for food even straight after her dinner & will keep eating even if she's not hungry.
She's escaped several times with us not being able to catch her for a few hours & has done a bully run thru people's houses, cars whilst they were being cleaned & jumped up at an elderly man putting his rubbish out causing quite a nasty scratch & bruise before doin a bulky run on his wife's death bed :( when she was nearly 6 months old I tied her to a bench outside the council office with my children sat on whilst I popped in for 2 mins. Turnt round to hear my kids screaming as she'd chewed thru her lead & ran thru the council offices & jumped up at a 3 yr old girl outside the police station & was witnessed by the police.  We can't have any windows open downstairs as she will exit thru them as well & will easily jump baby gates if she can see a exit point beyond it or keep banging it with her head til she weakens the stoppers & it flaps from the top allowing her to get out underneath it. She doesn't really chew or destroy stuff but loves pigs ears.
She's very strong to walk & will pull relentlessly  for the 1st hour then will start to flag & walk nicely until she sees someone /something of interest to say hello.
She loves other dogs animals & people. She's never really clicked with any of us & it's like we don't exist when she sees 1 of the above even food doesn't bother her if there's something new to see. We've walked her off the lead a few times in empty outdoor spaces & will come back when called... unless we see another dog/person even if their a long way away once she sees them she's gone. Lily doesn't like hose pipes, pressure washers, hoovers, brooms, mops especially when she's due on hoovering around her can be tricky but she will stop when told.
She loves the sound of her own voice for no good reason & will bully run round the garden barking & biting things when visitors come round. She has no manners & will jump up at new people n mouth them like a pup. She HATES fireworks but put the tumble dryer on to muffle & she'll settle but is always highly stressed in firework season. We have a rabbit who likes to sit close to mesh & run back & forth to wind her up & has chased the rabbit round the garden 1 night for about 30 mins but never harmed him jus played. We also have 3 cats that hate dogs that I've had since kittens & are nearly 17. Lily will chase the cats but if they stop & stand their ground or hiss lily will literally skid into the cat & run away yelping. Think for a long time we misunderstood lily thinking she was naughty when actually she might be quite nervous.
Lily is micro chipped. She will sit, jump spin & lay down on command for a treat. Completely house trained & will ask to go out & be clean. Although she rarely destroys anything if she does it will be her bed to make a hole to climb inside. Will argue back when u tell her off will start with a bark to a talk back to u until she'll give in n do as she's told. She used to someone being at home most the time but has been left all day before & has been fine. She is crate trained & quite likes it but prefers a spot next to the fire & will hog the sofa as soon as u leave the room them jump back down when she hears u coming. Haven't been able to grow veggies the past few years as she will eat the lot.... tomatoes, prickly cucumbers etc until there all gone.

bear in mind she is not getting any walks at all, so is just going slowly more stir crazy, bored out of her little head and loads and loads of excess energy - of course she is going to leg it at every opportunity afterall she doesnt know if and when she is ever going to have the opportunity to run again :o and all that extra energy never manifests itself in a positive way :-\

She can be a good girl as the photos show, even with the female staffie she lives with (neither of them are spayed!!) with a bit of exercise and some training she will improve in leaps and bounds ??? not saying she will be the 'perfect' dog but her current circumstances would not bring the best out in any dog :( :(

Oh dear, Poor Lily, hope she gets the right home soon, she just needs some guidance, training and patience (and maybe a new diet) would work wonders for her.
